Music & Copyright
Where the music comes from
Spinkle plays short previews of songs, provided by Apple Music. The previews, cover art, song titles and artist names come from Apple's iTunes Store and Apple Music, and they're streamed from Apple's servers when you play. Spinkle doesn't host, sell or keep copies of any music: preview clips are held only as temporary files while a round is being played, and never more than Apple's own 30-second preview is used.
As soon as a song is revealed, Spinkle shows a "Listen on Apple Music" link to that exact track, so players can listen to the full song and support the artist.
Rights belong to their owners
All songs, sound recordings, compositions and cover art in Spinkle belong to the artists, record labels, music publishers and other rights holders. Artist names and song titles are used only to identify the music. Their appearance in Spinkle doesn't mean that any artist, label or publisher endorses or is connected with the game.
Apple, Apple Music, iTunes and the Apple logo are trademarks of Apple Inc. Spinkle isn't affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by Apple.
Requests from rights holders
If you own rights in a song, recording or artwork that appears in Spinkle and you'd like it removed from the game, email yadaumur@gmail.com with:
- your name and contact details, and the rights holder you represent if you're writing on someone else's behalf
- the song or artwork concerned (title and artist), and where it appears in Spinkle if you know (a category, or a daily puzzle's number and date)
- a short description of your rights
- a statement that the information in your request is accurate and that you're the rights holder or authorized to act for them
We'll confirm that we've received your request and review it promptly. The song list is built into the app, so a removal takes effect with the next app update. We aim to submit that update within 7 days of confirming a valid request. Because the previews themselves are provided by Apple, a song's preview may stay available in Apple's services until you or your distributor ask Apple too.
